works without any problems on stock linux kernel.

I use a pair of Technisat SkyStar USB HD (DVB-S/S2) tuners [1] for
Satellite and a pair of Sony PlayTV devices for DVB-T.

This has been a stable setup for me. Currently running unmodified 3.2.0
kernel.

In particular, I rate the Sony PlayTV tuners highly. The external USB box has good shielding, and provides a single antenna cable --> built-in dual tuner solution. Its also cheap and easy to find in regular shops :)
