vdsClient is broken in may forms, and I recommend that you use Python to speak XMLRPC with vdsm, for anything slightly complex. But if you specify macAddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, bridge=ovirtmgmt and nicModel=virtio, you'd see a vNIC of the specified attribute connected to your VM.
