1- I am a bit skeptic about pure pull;

2- OTOH, pool depends on having some infrastructure (tools, framework
   and so on) in place. Maybe you just need to add "something" to the
   infrastructure. Take a look at my longer DbCursor post in this 
   thread for a clue on what I am talking about.
