I use Velocity in a freebee application I wrote. It is a goal of mine that my app+libraries+source+ test suite should all fit on one disk: 1.4megs. Right now it just barely does (about 1.3megs). The biggest thing on the disk is the Velocity jar at about 320k. I don't think I'll have enough room for the improvements I want to make in the future. Also, I'm using an old Velocity, but I don't want to upgrade because the newer Velocity jar seems to be about 380k. (And 60k makes a difference, when you've only got 100k left!)
Now, I use very few Velocity features, so I was wondering if I could de-jar the Velocity.jar file, and then erase some of the classes that never got used, and then re-jar it up? Does that make sense? Do any of you developers have any guesses as to how much space I could save or suggestions about what classes I could delete? I don't want to bother if it will only save me 20-50k, but if it could save me 100k, then maybe.... Please reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in addition to the emailing list. (I'm not sure I'm getting every post to the list.) Thanks. Joshua Levy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Make a great connection at Yahoo!
