You mean grab text?  Oh, that's easy :)

the way to do it is to leave parse alone and just make a little visitor 
to run the template and return the text for you.  Take a look at the 
'TemplateTool' in the distribution (certainly in CVS...)

contrib/temporary/templatetool/TemplateTool.java.
