a few infrastructure related reminders (intended to inform, no criticism intended. i'm a little out of the infrastructure loop now so apologies if any of this is out of date)
1 the direct links to the unmirrored downloads are likely to upset infrastructure. i like linking to the common download page but it's possible to link direct from the page (with a little care). i can probably create a patch for the page if that's the way you want to go
2 the right way to get ASF stuff into maven's repository is now through the java repository group. mark's doing a good job over there but the system seems still to be bedding down so there's a possibility that this won't be too smooth. probably better if the request came from a pmc member.
3 it'd be good to have an announcement email posted to the announcements lists. (i don't think this has been done but apologies if i missed it.)
4 i will take care of updating the jakarta download page unless someone beats me to it (or someone comes up with a good reason not to).
