Hey, I'm really excited about this.  I want to acknowledge all the great 
work that Geir and other past/current committers have done to build such a 
mature product. We're all aware that the release cycle has been pretty slow 
for the past few years.  It's been encouraging to me to see how strong the 
user community is for Velocity despite this.  I'm glad that I can help get 
development moving again.

I'd like to start adding in some of the features and bug fixes that have 
been discussed on the lists or put in Bugzilla.  If you'd like to help, come 
over to the developer lists.  I'm going to put up a page on the Wiki where 
we can discuss priorities for patches.

been elected a Velocity committer.

I've known Will for some time now, both online and in the real world, and 
it's been great to see his interest in Velocity develop from dedicated 
user - his business depends on it - to general benefactor, interested in 
and understanding of all the facets of Velocity that generally have me 
considered to be a cranky old recalcitrant conservative.
