Compare the Velocity home page (on the site now) with the DVSL home page
(uses the old format).
If you pull the browser wide on a big monitor, I think having a fixed width
for text looks better. This is pretty common in web content. It's also why
newspapers put articles in columns instead of 11 inches wide. (that, and to
make room for ads, of course).

Hmm, I'd like to compare with a version where the container was allowed
to expand when I make my browser bigger (or smaller).
My gut tells me I'd prefer that. And 7 times out of 10, my gut knows
what's best -- at least for me, your gut may vary. ;-)
