The Velocity User Guide says, "Velocity's behaviour is to gobble up excess
whitespace," and gives three examples of code written differently which
is supposed to produce the same output. However when I run those code
samples (with 1.3), I get the following very different formats:
Example 1:
Send me $10 and a cake please.
Example 2:
Send me
$10 and
a cake
please.
Example 3:
Send me
$10 and
a cake
please.
Did I misunderstand something, or is the whitespace-gobbling feature
not working?
