Hear hear.

Frankly I lurk here. The reason I do so is because I pick up useful tips
for my own use of Velocity and (very) occasionally am able to provide
help to others.

I can't even believe that I am pitching in. I do know however that I
will need to be dragged backwards through time, space and possibly other
dimensions before I wish to hear Mr Revusky spout any more. This is for
Users. This is not for "adult debate" - take your pointless
philisophical objections somewhere else. If I wished to enter a
discussion on the fruitfulness of debate in a free society then I would
join in with the other fourteen year olds on "alt-holier-than-thou".
Please for <insert name most relevant to your belief system here> sake,
can we not just get back to people asking questions about whether there
is an issue with a NullPointerException being thrown when you monkey

Jonathan at this point about thalf the bandwith of this list is you responding to people while mainly advocating Freemarker and getting annoyed with people for not liking it due to the syntax. Maybe you should go argue with people on the Freemarker user list?

Because this is a velocity users lists. And you're not a velocity user.

Please don't. Let's keep discussion on topic - no more meta-discussion thanks.

I'm sorry, Will. That doesn't wash. Chris specifically said that I was
engaging in "one-way abuse". I have no idea (and I don't think anybody

can have on the basis of his message) what he's talking about. He has stated this in public and should back up what he was saying in public.

Or he can simply retract the statement, that's okay too.

But he should either back up the statement or retract it. These are
basic rules of responsible, adult discourse.

Chris, I'm sorry that you perceive things this way. I am not sure
which messages you are referring when you discuss "one-way abuse" from me. Could you provide the specific links to such messages and point out which passages you consider most egregious?

Thanks,
