This would have been comparing tomcat against resin maybe 6 or 8 months ago ... tbh I think one of the major reasons for us choosing Resin over tomcat was down to memory overheads, however as I say I'm not very closely involved in that part of the business, I use tomcat for developing & testing.

I can't comment about custering with Tomcat, I have been in prod
environments where it is used and it worked fine, but I wasn't
responsible for the setup.

Jetty is nice but configuration is a bit funky and it does not provide
any JNDI services.
