Client Application Support is a cross-function team of approximately 20 hands-on technology professionals who are responsible for the day-to-day operational management of end user technologies and platforms. These platforms run on a highly virtualize VCE Vblock/VMware infrastructure which supports our VMware View VDI(Virtual Desktop Interface) implementation, providing desktops for software developers and end users. Our applications are delivered through a combination of automated methods including Citrix XenApp and SCCM. For remote access we offer our users an Extranet solution provided by Juniper MAG hardware leveraging two-factor authentication. We are looking to add 4 resources to our team who can contribute to the support of our users as well as contribute to the engineering and architecture of our environment in a holistic way which aligns with the goals of our group. Experience is significant. For this role you’ll need to have at least five to ten years of experience as Systems Administrator. It is paramount to have hands-on experience with managing Microsoft Windows environments, including Terminal Services, Windows 7, Windows XP, Citrix, and Active Active Directory (to name a few). You have worked in a virtual environment before and are comfortable operating in a VMware View for VDI environment. In order to streamline your management approach you have experience with languages such as PowerShell, VBScript/WSH, and cmd/bat. Experience is significant. For this role you’ll need to have at least five to ten years of experience as Systems Administrator. It is paramount to have hands-on experience with managing Microsoft Windows environments, including Terminal Services, Windows 7, Windows XP, Citrix, and Ac • Worked alongside our DBA and Server Application Support team to deploy a new application to our Citrix environment • Assisted a user in connecting to their virtual machine remotely. While assisting the user they stated this is a frequent occurrence and you took the time to diagnose and understand the real cause of their issue to fix it once and for all • Provisioned new virtual machines for our users to support an initiative to virtualize desktops throughout the areas we support • Worked with developers to convert a legacy application to a Windows 7 compatible release. In doing this you also collaborated with the business users to test it out and ensure that it meets their requirements.
