Consulting opportunity with large hedge fund based in mid-town NYC for
Senior SQL Server DBA
Responsibilities:
Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server 2008 R2, 2012,
2014
Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting,
support, and maintenance of SQL Server database systems including
Production and Development server environments.
Control maintenance activities such as creating backups, editing
indexes, and performing installations and upgrades.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug issues related to company software
applications; confer with and advise owner on the use of applications;
create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed.
Monitor for and advise on patches/updates from applicable database vendors,
propose upgrades as appropriate.
Monitor database events and proactively optimize systems.
Automate proactive procedures where possible and to promote rapid response
to known issues.
Work with application teams on deployments to production using a change
control process.
SQL Server Replication experience is a plus.
Experience working with SQL server in VM environments.
