Our client in the Philadelphia is looking for a Lead Java Developer for a
12+ month contract. This is an opportunity to join one of the most
well-known technology companies in the region, and to lead a team
developing a very cool product that is a household name.
*Position Description:*
- 25% of the time will be spent hands-on coding to improve the product
- 75% of the time will be spent leading the development team (currently
8 developers) in the following areas:
- Provide architectural guidance for the project
- Think of the product’s development from an beginning-to-end,
operational perspective
- Help the developers gel as a team for increased productivity
- The management team will be leaning on you for direction of the
project. It is an exciting task with responsibility. You will have the
autonomy you need to make your own decisions for the development team’s
direction.
- Use Github to share code for code reviews with the team in a
collaborative environment
*Required Skills:*
- Very extensive experience (about 7+ years) of Java Development
experience a must
- 2+ years of Lead experience a must
- Technology experience with Subversion (SVN) the following a must

- Agile development experience a must – this team is using Scrum
- *Excellent** communication skills a MUST*
- Experience with Github or a similar code sharing site to share code
for reviews with the team in a collaborative environment
- Deep technical knowledge
- Ability to view product’s development from beginning to end and
evaluate the best way to get things done
- Confident to make decisions and execute on them
- Respectful to team members – able to help them gel as one unit
*Preferred Skills:*
- Ruby experience preferred
- Video experience a huge plus (Flash, WebRTC) – this product will be
improving it’s video within the website
