Kindly Mail me at : abhis...@apetan.com Backfill Urgent Req Senior Linux/NetApp/Storage Administartor *Duration: 6 month contract* *Location: Sunnyvale* *Notes: I would have to say that this individual will need to be 2/3 Linux/Unix admin and ½ storage admin* ______________________________________________________ *Position: System Administrator - NetApp* *Location: Sunnyvale, CA* *About the Role:* In this global role, the IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, updating and troubleshooting server hardware and software for network, infrastructure, servers and services necessary for ongoing business activities. The IT Systems Administrator will coordinate with service providers for outsourced activities and ensure that work performed is consistent with Company policies, conventions, procedures and plans. Tasks will be executed based on plans and established procedures. The IT Systems Administrator will participate in planning activities, in collaboration with other teams to ensure that the IT project plans are accurate, complete and feasible. *Responsibilities:* - Enterprise storage SAN/NAS administration (NetApp experience preferred) - Day-to-day management of storage environment (aggregates, volumes, LUNS). - Managing NFS/CIFS file services and access permissions. - Managing snapshots and replication. - Manage SAN ports on fiber switches - Measure I/O performance and identify bottlenecks. - Firmware upgrade of storage controller, disk shelves, disk drives. - Capacity planning to forecast growth. - Enterprise data backup (NetBackup experience preferred) - Configure backup policies and schedule jobs. - Perform backup recovery and verify data integrity. - Monitor backup job status, resolve issues/failures. - Linux server administration (Oracle Linux / Oracle VM experience preferred) - Install server and configure Linux OS, TCP/IP networking, DNS, Apache HTTP server, OpenSSH. - Develop scripts to automate system configuration, software installation, monitor system health, automate failure recovery. - Work closely with business application team to enhance application performance and availability. Required Experience: - 3+ years hands-on administration of enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) - NetApp or Hitachi Storage - experience preferred. - 3+ years hands-on administration of enterprise backup solution - Netbackup experience preferred. - 5+ years hands-on management of Linux servers – Oracle Linux or CentOS experience preferred. - 3+ years writing scripts - UNIX shell, Perl or Python experience preferred.
