Job title: System Administrator/ Unix Administrator consultant Location: Miami – Florida Duration: Contract Mandatory Skills : Architecting , Unix OS , Unix System Internals , Unix Productivity Tools , Perl Programming , JavaScript , Java Web Start Job Description: • Responsible for contributing to the design & architecture for small to medium projects. • Works on problems of highly complex scope, through expert usage of non-standard concepts & principles requiring high levels of judgement & interpretation. • Works as a guide and sets directions for medium sized projects of reasonable complexity. • Applies own judgement to independently determine a course of action, which is then executed by project teams. • Role is capable of finding out new methods and processes to approach complex situations in the respective area(s) of expertise. • Requires extensive knowledge of multiple development technologies/ expert knowledge of one technology. • Expected to continue to build upon domain knowledge and technical/ proprietary skills to each levels of expertise, while adapting standard principles to new or changed conditions in day to day work. • Has the ability to respond to detailed queries.May be called upon to advise Sr Management on specialized technical issues.Responsible for coaching, guiding and mentoring junior members in the team to help them scale up faster. • Sound knowledge on concurrently mechanisms( Locking, Semaphores, etc) • Guide a team to create prototypes to validate design decisions. • Design and Code Review. Establish build and unit testing processes • Sound experience on inter module dependencies and interactions. • Should be able to implement new kernel level modules. • Good Knowledge of the Operating systems like Linux, Sun Solaris, IBM-AIX, HP-UX, SCO Unix • Intermediate knowledge of scripting like TCL/TK ,Unix Shell Scripts, PL/SQL, Pro C Intermediate Knowledge of Build Tools like Cruise Control, ANT Intermediate Knowledge of Batch Processing tools like Auto Sys, Control-M Intermediate Knowledge of development tools like Design Tool, Static Code Analyzer, Testing Tool • Should have at least 2 years of experience in programming with programming Languages like C, C++,Java, Perl, HTML, XML ,Assembly language • Object-Oriented Programming in Perl - Perl and Unicode - Perl Object Environment - POE (Programming in an Event-Driven Environment) – Inline Extensions - Inter Process Communication (client, server, signals etc) • Should be able to design, develop, debug programs independently and mentor others. • Should be comfortable in designing applications using various event handlers and be able to High usability and high performance applications using scripting languages. • Should be able design applications encompassing business security requirements, single sign-on, multi-platform, multi-browser environments.
