*ETL Software Engineer Location: Sacramento, CA Position Type: Contract* *Our client is targeting late November or early December 2016 start date with an end date of Jun 30, 2023. Work is limited to 1860 hours per year.* *Notes: * Candidates must be able to provide references Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and alcohol screen before starting work Candidate must be able to work 1860 hours per year to June 2023 Client will hire from a Web/Ex interview (but in person interviews preferred) *Qualifications / Requirements:* - 8+ years of experience writing design/mapping specifications for ETL development using IBM InfoSphere DataStage to design ETL jobs - 5+ years' experience in using SQL (a must) - Experience in using XML Stage in InfoSphere DataStage. - Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts and experience in designing BI reports a big plus - Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field required - Must have excellent communication in English, both verbal and written *Assets Desired:* - Knowledge of 837 and NCPDP HIPAA Transactions - Experience using Erwin to design data models - Masters Degree preferred - Experience in Healthcare with Medicaid or Public Health highly desired - Government work experience a plus - Experience reading, understanding and importing COBOL copybooks into InfoSphere DataStage - Quality State Experience a plus *Position Description - Must have ability to perform the below:* - Responsible for the analysis of customer requirements, improving existing computer systems, and documenting detailed user requirements and program functions. - Determine feasibility of a requested program change/functionality and determine the impact of modification to the software solution. - Monitor database performance, support application users, determine cost of database changes, and train team members on applications. - Coordinates the work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs and establish physical database parameters. - Uses Erwin to design a data model for assigned projects. - Analyze source systems to determine required transformations. - Writes the design and mapping specifications for ETL development. - Perform address profiling using QualityStage and obtain address coordinates using Geolocator. - Use IBM InfoSphere Datastage to design ETL jobs. - Identify methods of improving performance in ETL design and development. - Analyze, identify, and recommend ways to improve the quality of data from the sources using IBM InfoSphere ProfileStage. - Read, understand and import COBOL copybooks into InfoSphere DataStage. - Experience in using XML stage - Utilize knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts and experience in designing BI reports. - Job also includes working with the Health Care Quality Assurance specialist in evaluating data quality and making recommendations to improve data quality.
