has an immediate opening for a Sr. Tomcat Middleware Administrator. Your
skills are needed to assist a market leader in contract Food Services at
their North American headquarters in Charlotte, NC 28211.  In this position
you will be working as a senior Sr. Tomcat Middleware Administrator
supporting several mission critical new development initiatives while also
assuming administrative responsibilities for several back office systems.
Middleware technologies at the client include: Tomcat/Apache/WebSphere
etc.  The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of Tomcat Middleware
Administration consulting experience and the ability work independently on
mission critical projects and deliverables with minimal oversight.
Leadership skills are critical!

Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead Middleware Admin efforts with minimal oversight is
expected!
- Responsible for administration/ supporting various Middleware
technologies (Tomcat/Apache/WebSphere, etc.).
- Designing, building, deploying, maintaining, monitoring and
troubleshooting of web servers (Apache Web servers), and Application
servers (Tomcat/WAS) in non-prod and prod environments of in-house and
vendor applications.
- Setting up HA/Clustering/Failover of Apache/Tomcat environments in Linux
environments.
- Setting up SSL configurations, managing the SSL certificates and key
stores on Apache/Tomcat/WAS
- Working with Users, DEV teams, QA teams, System, Security, and Network
administrators to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly and accurately.
- Troubleshoot system resources and performance bottlenecks for web
applications
- Performance management and tuning of Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, and other
web/application servers
- Perform and support regularly scheduled system patches & application
upgrades, etc.
- Work with product Vendors & Partners for support escalations and issue
management
- Work independently on mission critical projects and deliverables
- Creating and maintaining documentation of all the installations,
configurations, changes, etc.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery drills

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 5+ years in Apache Tomcat (6/7/8) on RedHat platforms, AIX, Windows 32
and 64 bit JDK
- 5+ years in Apache server, IBM HTTP Server
- 3+ years in RedHat v5.0 and above, AIX 6/7, Windows etc.
- 3+ years experience in TCP/IP, Internet Technologies, DNS, and Network
Technologies
- 3+ years experience with other Java Application Server platforms (WAS,
Weblogic, JBoss, etc.)
- Must have experience in supporting web and app server environments
hosting mission critical applications, and maintaining underlying
infrastructure
- Expert understanding of Enterprise Application and Web/Application server
configuration options in Apache/Tomcat/WAS environments
- Hands on expertise in Configuring Apache/Tomcat clustering, load
balancing, failover.
- Hands on expertise in building/compiling custom apache/tomcat packages on
RHEL.
- Hands on expertise in configuring mod_ajp load balancing configurations
in apache/tomcat.
- Hands on expertise in managing, configuring and updating SSL
certificates, key stores on Apache/Tomcat/WAS
- Hands on Expertise in configuring (JDBC, JMS, Web Container Thread Pools,
Heap sizes, tracing, etc.)
- Hands on Expertise in Setting up and tuning of web servers (Apache, IIS)
with SSL, High Load, HA, etc.
- Expertise in using performance monitoring tools, producing and analyzing
thread dumps, heap dumps and finding out the root cause of the problems.
- Hands on expertise in submitting firewall requests, DNS requests, etc.
- Strong understanding of Network Components (Load Balancer, Firewall
rules, etc.)
- Expertise with Multi-Node management environments (Tomcats, Apache, WAS)
- Expertise in scripting languages to automate deployments, updates,
administration tasks, etc.
- Strong Trouble shooting skills
- Flexible schedule and available for after hours
- Excellent oral and written communications and customer service skills
- Strong communication, collaboration & organization skills - Proven
ability to work with all team members and peers
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning/methodologies a plus
- Strong information gathering, proactive planning, documenting &
forecasting skills
