*Application Architect*
Opening in Richfield, Minnesota, for an Application Architect to support
our client's strategy by applying a deeply developed skill set in a
specific area/discipline of technology architecture.
This is a hands on role, candidate will be expected to work with technology
directly. Ideal candidate will have moved from a development role into an
architecture role.
*Position Overview:*
- Act as a subject matter expert, to provide expertise, objectivity,
vision and solutions to the business and technical teams.
- Own and develop technology roadmaps for Best Buy Mobile and Retail
Applications.
- Create and maintain library of current state ("as is") capabilities,
desired future state, and timing of what gap will be addressed and by when.
- Design, develop, and implement Best Buys Mobile and Retail
Consultation tool capabilities using Java and web-based application
technologies.
- Create IT solutions that meet the business and IT requirements.
- Partner by working collaboratively with the Solutions Architect,
development team and infrastructure engineers to develop, document and
maintain current and strategic cross-capability roadmaps, principles,
standards models, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Should bring in expertise related to Mobile/Tablet applications.
- Experience working in Agile based product teams with an ability to
work across multiple projects in parallel.
*Requirement:*
- At least a Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer
Information Systems, or Computer Science plus at least 7 years of
progressive, post-baccalaureate experience designing, developing and
implementing a companys Web-Based Applications, Mobile/Tablet Applications
through:
- Modular architectures for web-based applications
- Responsive web design
- The use of the following technologies and tools: JAVA, CSS3, HTML5,
Angular JS, Spring, J2EE, JBoss, SOAP, REST, XML/XSLT, Hibernate, JSON,
Oracle, and Layer7, Jenkins
- Continuous integration
- Retail experience is a plus.
- Retail and eCommerce preferred
*Technologies Desired:*
JAVA, CSS3, HTML5, Angular JS, Spring, J2EE, JBoss, SOAP, REST, XML/XSLT,
Hibernate, JSON, Oracle, and Layer7, Jenkins
*Soft Skills:*
- Good written and oral communication
- Needs to be comfortable working with other technical resources and
setting direction
- Comfortable working in a Matrixed organization
