*Unix Engineer* *Woodlawn, MD* *6+ months Contract* *Phone and Skype/WebEx* - RHSA. - RHCE. - Solaris Certified System Administration. *Responsibilities* The scope of work is to support all aspects of the CMS Unix components, including: - Unix/Linux operating system administration including, but not limited to, installation, configuration, access management, and file system management. - Unix/Linux operating system patching, upgrades, and security support. - Installation/configuration and support of enterprise level clustered file systems including NFS, QFS and GPFS. - Troubleshooting experience with OS and application issues. - Performance tuning of OS and hardware. - Oracle hardware maintenance. - VMware / x86 blade servers supporting Linux. - Shell scripting. - Communication / documentation. - Weekend support / On-call support / shift (after hours) support / holidays. *Requirements* - Oracle Linux experience. - Oracle Exadata experience. - Unix Administrator with minimum of 7-10 yrs experience supporting Solaris 10/11 / Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 or greater (RHEL 6.x preferred). - Shell scripting. - Oracle hardware support. - Excellent communication / documentation skills. *Desired* - Experience on Government contracts. - Health Care IT support experience. - DNS experience. - Office automation applications and tools. - Experience with SYSLOG-NG. - Sendmail / SMTP experience. - Operating system network tuning experience. - Operating system performance tuning experience. - VERITAS Net backup application support. - SAN storage support. - HBA/Brocade experience. - Network troubleshooting experience. - Application support experience with Oracle DB, web applications, and other enterprise business applications. - RHSA. - RHCE. - Solaris Certified System Administration. - Enterprise level support experience supporting large data centers.
