*Role: Release Engineer* *Duration: 6+ month contract * *Location: Washington DC.* *Mode of interview: phone then Skype* No H1-B *Job Description * • Create and manage build & deployment processes for .Net and packaged vendor solutions. • Implement automation and continuous integration processes. • Schedule and manage deployments to lower environments. Assist with deployments to production environments, including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists. • Collaborate with automated testing teams, monitoring teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployments. Resolve dependencies and ensure that deadlines are met. • Assist with application monitoring. *Required* • 7+ years of overall experience • 2+ years’ experience in developing and maintaining software deployment structures in a Microsoft .Net environment. • Experience with Microsoft-based AGILE development, SCRUM, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and concepts. • Knowledge and experience with Windows Azure • Ability to write and implement scripts in PowerShell. • Hands-on configuration skills with code management, work item, and continuous integration tools. Microsoft TFS and Release Management experience strongly preferred. • Demonstrated knowledge of code branching and merging strategies. • Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft server and application logs and debugging procedures. • Familiarity with DevOps concepts • Proven ability to work collaboratively with development teams for results. • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
