*Position : Sr. DevOps Engineer* *Location : LOS ANGELES, California (90094)* *Duration : 12 month contract* *Interview : Phone first, technical screen 2nd , and then MUST come for onsite interview if that goes well.* *The candidate MUST have very strong Python experience and AWS. * *Sr. DevOps Engineer * This team currently consists of passionate engineers who strive to demonstrate excellence in the field of DevOps. We are not only responsible for the uptime of the various .COM websites, but a large portion of the job is to innovate. Historically, once infrastructure is configured and working it is mandated that there are no more changes to the system. Not here. We frequently and deliberately rebuild our entire system in an automated fashion. These activities help us not only discover pain points in our system but it gives us the opportunity to continually improve. How do we guarantee geographic redundancy? How do we get code to production faster? 15 minutes to rebuild a system, how can we get it down to 5? Instead of Mongo, should we use Cassandra or DynamoDB? Do we even need a database for this application? How can we orchestrate a cloud failover from one provider to another? We want someone who has an insatiable thirst for technology, desire to learn and grow individually, with the team, and the business. Someone who has a passion to lead, architect, design, document and implement comprehensive platform solutions using security best practices. In this role the ideal candidate will apply their DevOps technical expertise leading a team to deliver a solution to one of the many platform challenges within the company. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills and agile experience delivering projects using automation tools and technologies. What open source technology is available that can be applied as part of our toolset? How do we optimize performance, reduce downtime, and automate? Lets discuss this over our team lunches/white board sessions. We want someone who is willing to challenge the status quo and make a difference. This is an extremely challenging position, but would be the perfect fit for someone who wants to contribute and grow. Lets get more involved in the community by attending meet ups and conferences.
