*Position: Oracle DBA*
*Duration: 6-12 months*
*Location: Dalls,TX f2f interview 9+ only needed*
- *RAC experience on Linux*
- RAC build out experience – cluster ware and database (have seen in
the past that many DBA just have no cluster ware exposure)
- trouble shooting HA events, providing RCA (events such as the imps
cluster issue on weekend need the resource to be able to walk
through Plan
A, B etc and provide options)
- *Performance*
- Understanding of the CBO, Ability to Manage SQL Plans (this is
critical in triage for business processes like CPM etc)
- Database tuning experience and ability to react quickly to
performance issues
- Understanding of storage and network as it pertains to DB
performance
*Major Accountabilities:*
- Fulfill virtual and physical server provisioning requests
- Plan and manage SAN storage capacity requirements
- Run & monitor DB maintenance routines
- Plan and manage backup and recovery procedures
- Controlling access privileges and permissions with a close attention
to security
- Writing database documentation (standards, procedures, scripts)
- Manage and maintain established DB standards
*Position Requirements:*
- Successful leadership of projects
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident and change management)
- Working knowledge of data processing concepts and financial
industry/banking operations practices
- Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, languages, and
environments
- Provide technical expertise to development and deployment teams on
integration/configuration of supporting infrastructure
- Work with development resources and coordinate upgrades in a fast
paced environment
- Ability to manage time, projects, and work priorities
- Install, configure and administer Oracle servers, including the
design, configuration and operation of n-node clusters, data recovery, and
user/group/role definition
- Extensive hands on experience with Oracle RAC & HA
- Implement patches, updates, and fixes as necessary following
established Change Management processes
- Coordinate with the Storage team in configuration of provisioned
storage resources
- Coordinate with the Network team in configuration of provisioned data
communication services
- Provide input to and follow standards and best practices as defined by
the vendor and other teams
- Working experience with replication technologies like Oracle Streams,
CDC or Golden Gate
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of IT and Oracle database
administration
- Develop scripts/utilities to automate repetitive tasks, i.e. backups,
refreshes, failover
- Expert knowledge of Oracle database management and administration
