Like Ann Marie, we also don't routinely taper up/down unless the patient has glycemic issues. Our infusions typically run over 12 hours.

Most of our home TPN clients infuse over 14 or 16 hours - we occassionally have a longer one, but not ofter. We do not routinely taper up but we do an hour taper down.

For those of you who administer TPN at home, how long does it run (24 or 12 hour) and what is your policy on tapering up and down. Thanks in advance, Nanette Richards
