Does anyone have any information on this subject.  We have a neuro-surgeon that would like the nurses to do this. Thank you. Teresa Fries RN BS CRNI   Subject: Nursing practice and intrathecal administration   Teresa,   I am having a difficult time finding information regarding nursing practice and intrathecal administration of antibiotics. From the limited research I have come across, it appears that such practice is evident outside the state of California (ex. Maine and S. Carolina). The information is relatively vague and the information that is available reveals little-to-no clinical research. There is an ANA position statement regarding the practice, but again no references available. If you can assist me in any way I would greatly appreciate your help.    Thank you, Craig Bosch.
