Implanted ports have similar restrictions on high pressure
injections as do PICCs. You need to check the instructions for use for
several brands - or call the various port manufacturers and get their
booklets. This would include Bard, Smiths Medical, Rita Medical, and
Boston Scientific. Most brands have the limit of 40 psi. I think there
is one brand from Rita Medical with a limit of 100 psi, but this
company makes numerous brands. Does the patients bring the product
card with them to the hospital? If so this would tell you which brand
and size they have. Lynn

Does anyone have evidence or know where I can get literature on using ports for CT scans. Would that put to much pressure and potentially damage the port? We have lots of patients coming from different areas with ports and wonder about this.
Thanks in advance,
