1.  We use a pump for PICCs and probably most CVCs.  We do not require blood
pump tubing for PIV transfusion.  However, we are 4 adult hospital network.
One facility has always used pumps for transfusion via PIV or CVC and
continues to do so.
2.  Our policy requires a pump for transfusion via PICC.
3.  Same as #2.
4.  Hospira Plum Pump
5.  Blood pump tubing costs about 3-4 times as much as gravity blood tubing.
(We considered the cost of treating an occlusion or loss of catheter, to
support this additional expense.)
