Hi Martha,
I'm not familiar with the product that you are describing. I can say that
we love our elastomeric device. This includes nurses and patients. We are
a small, privately owned company and we really need to provide the best
service in order to get our referrals, and the elastomerics really help with
that. We hear anecdotal reports from nurses in other agencies that say that
other pharmacies are providing compounded drug in a syringe and having the
patient push it. The elastomeric devices only take a few moments to fill in
the pharmacy. The patients love them b/c they are so easy to learn and they
can ambulate with one in their pocket. We use the Eclipse, but are
researching less expensive models. FYI-Last I knew, Medicare does not
reimburse for the pumps b/c they are not electrical.

Subject: disposable IV pumps
A few years ago at INS industrial exhibits there was a booth displaying
disposable IV pumps.
Does anyone remember who made it?
Or know if it still exists?
Or have experience using them - pros / cons?
I'm looking specifically for the one that was a little box that attached
to the IV tubing. It had a rotary peristaltic mechanism.
Your thoughts about elastomerics would also be helpful.
Thanks!
