> Question for the group? I work acute care and
we are having issues with the Pharmacy re: Hanging cold
meds and TPN directly from or shorly there after
from removing from frig. Apparently issues have arised about staff removing meds
from frig a whole shift or two (when working 16h) and being at room temp
all day. If meds are cut and returned the pharmacy has no way of knowing how
long they sat out. I'm sure the staff isn't doing it with short shelf life meds
because pharm. sends those when due. Pharmacy's solution is they want to make it
policy to hang all meds directly from frig. I need references to back up not to
hang cold meds or especially TPN.
Thanks in advance
