Just a request for clear nomenclature...

When placing a VAD product in an unusual way, such as a PICC in the external jugular, please do not refer to the placement just by the product name (PICC), but describe the it using terms that specifically indicate where the device is inserted and where the tip terminates. 
(Maybe External Jugular PICC or External Jugular CVC?)

This is especially important when the patient is transferred out of the hospital to home care or long term care so that we can ensure that the patient is taken care of safely and competently.
