We want to use the same port for central or PIV lines.  We are also trying to get away from heparin in our central lines.  We haven’t had any problems so far.  We haven’t had a line infection for >5 years so even one will get my attention.  We do love the clave just trying to move on using less or no heparin.  RaKay

Why did you stop using Clave? Was it because it wasn't a positive pressure device? We have been using saline only flushes for our peripheral locks for many years. Started only using saline for central lines when we started using the CLC 2000 positive pressure device. We didn't like the B.Braun because you couldn't draw blood from central lines using a vacutainer. The vacutainer wouldn't stay on the device. Also, the pin in the center of the device is not flush with the outside. Concerned that it would be very difficult to clean before accessing. ? causing central line infections.

We started using this product in October.  We had previously used the clave.  Things have gone well.  In February I plan to drop from 100u/ml hep flushes to 10u/ml flushing if all is still okay we will then move to saline only flushing.  I don’t believe in changing more than one thing at a time.   So far so good.   RaKay Dance, Prescription Center Home Care

Is anyone using the B. Bruan ultrasite positive pressure cap?  If so, please offer feedback regarding  this product.

Thanks,

Dawn
