could be the vessel was in spasm. i have never had it happen to me
until last week and the scenario is the same. if you wait a couple of
minutes, the spasm resolves. i was all set to pull out the introducer, but
waited and had no problem threading it and the picc into the vessel. never
thought it would have happened, but my partner had just had it happen to her and
she encouraged me to wait. sure enough, it went very smoothly after just a
minute or 2 of leaving the vessel alone. not sure if this was the problem,
but it may be worth a thought.
