id say its a safe bet you dont work peds. even in adults when the iv is in the doral aspect of the hand certain hand positions can occlude the iv and a hand board is only for a reminder to not hyper extend the wrist

Handboards are not all that common since it would be used mostly for the bend of the wrists where they shouldn't be anyway. Of course I've seen them used for finger placed IV sites which are also a no-no. I'm skeptical whenever I see one present. It should make you wonder why it's there.
