Hi all
OK ....I got a pet peeve today. ( gonna name her ivey)....oh i digress...(lol)
When a patient is transferred from one facility to another, the dwell time or insertion date of central lines is hard to come by. I am talking about the short term catheters like subclavians; jugulars etc. It REALLY irks me when a facility transfers a patient with a femoral line in place. By my experience these patients come straight out of the ICU and get transferred to LTAC with femoral lines in place. Why do nurses not consider this critical information????
Well ...perhaps it is facility based.....But it still irks me !
Any comments?
