For some reason my first e-mail didn't come through so if it does sorry for the repeat. We use PICC's for the bubble studies without any problems. I don't think you get as good of a picture as you do with a large bore IV but it does work fine, we use 12ml syringes for our studies anyway so it is not an issue with to small of a syringe. If I don't get a good picture I was taught to draw back a small Less then 1ml of blood into the syringe with the saline and flush it in with the agitated saline and you get a better picture, it does work well.
