Cheryl,
There is not anything that would be allowed to be on the
body during this radiation. Materials on the body can 1) cause a greater
accumulation
of radiation to the area of the materials causing a skin
reaction or 2) change the depth to which the radiation is received. I
think one on one education of
the technologist and/or RN who works with the patient in
Radiation Therapy would be your best best. Explaining to them how the line
would need to
be replaced and the patients risk to do this might go a
long way.
