There was an article in the Nov/Dec 2004 Journal of the INS by Lisa Gorski and
Lynn Czaplewski "Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters and Midline Catheters
for the Home Care Nurse" that I have used as a reference for teaching basic
PICC info to nurses in our agency that are not on our infusion team, but may
see patients with PICCs for wound care, ostomy care, etc. It has really solid
basic info on indications, flow rates, maintenance, complications, pt.
education, and documentation. I think much of the info could be easily adapted
to EMTs. Good luck with the presentation

Sorry, I have never been asked for this
information and never seen anything that has been
created for EMTs. I think the things you
mentioned should be included - dressing,
flushing, compression, etc. Lynn
