Infusing stem cells is like infusing packed red blood cells. The long
narrow lumen of a PICC does not easily allow for blood infusion without
without a pump. Contact some major BMT transplant centers and ask. The
real concern is how long can the stem cells hang. If they must be
transfused over a relatively short period of time, you may not be able to do
it with a PICC.
