We use groshong nxt PICC (4Fr). Nurses and patients are satisfied with
it except for blood sampling. Standard procedure for blood sampling is to
flush first with 10 ml of normal saline, then perform the blood sampling and
end up with a manual flush with 10 ml of normal saline. The vacutainer filling
time is very slow, is not possible or the nurses use syringes to aspirate blood
through the PICC. Does
