Does
anyone have a policy written re dilution of irritant drugs?
One of
our nurse managers wants me to write a policy re routine
dilution of MSO4. I hesitate to do this, as
morphine certainly isn't the only
irritant drug needing dilution; I also don't feel
the policy should
state
every drug needing dilution. I could use the INS
standard
regarding pH and osmolarity, but I doubt very much the
nurses
are
going to look this up every time on every med...so what are
you
all doing?
Thanks for any info.
