If radiology cannot fix it consider a catheter exchange.

This is not the most appropriate position but neither is the midline 
location. The NANN Guidelines for PICCs takes most of their 
malposition information from the adult literature and states "---use 
of the catheter should be discontinued if its position is not 
appropriate. To avoid vascular injury, the line should be infused 
with fluids that can be given in a PICC until it is properly 
positioned." Is there no way to work with a radiology group to do an 
overwire exchange or put in a properly positioned catheter? Lynn
