TPN and needless connectors

In our trauma surgical ICU the RN's are not using needless connectors on TPN infusion thru a central line. We have had infections in the past with needless connectors and TPN, when sugested to change the needless connectors with  the tubing q 24 hours I am told it is just another thing to change, so the RNs are not using them. Any references out there for the use of needless connectors on central lines, or any thing on needless connectors with TPN infusions?  Thank You Joy Waud RN CRNI
