It's called Covaderm. It is a compositie dressing made up of a hgh moisture vapor permeable dressing with a telfa pad in the center and a gauze type material over the rest of it. We use it for those patients who seem to have developed a skin reaction to the adhesive in our standard transparent dressing. Covaderm seems to have a lighter adhesive and is gentler on the skin.

However, you can't visualize the exit site, and the telfa pad does not help secure the PICC at the exit site. You still need to use steristrips or Statlock near the exit site.

We've been using it for years on selected patients.
