Those introducer catheters are usually very short and will not reach the SVC/RA junction from the typical insertion site of the IJ. I am not aware of any studies of measuring CVPs from the introducer catheter alone. Is he wanting to take this measurement while the PA catheter is still in place or leave the introducer for the CVP after the PA cath has been removed? Either way I don't think it will be in the correct position to take this measurement properly. You could also contact the clinical staff at the manufacturer for more information on their recommendations. Lynn
