I just saw a "Pharmagram" from our pharmacy stating that all IV phenergan orders would be converted to compazine (I think).  On this was a picture of a nasty necrotic hand.  I don't know why they decided to change but I know I have written up several bad phlebitis's from it.

I'm relieved.

Has anyone made a policy change or removed phenergan IV from their facility since the ISMP alert?
IF so what did you use for evidence other that the ISMP alert?  We are working on making a change
at our facility but we are meeting lots of resistance.

Thanks
