Margaret,   A Porta-Lung is essentially a reincarnation of the iron lung only done with modern materials.  You can see it and have it explained here: http://www.porta-lung.com/portalunginfo3.html.   But in essence it is an iron lung brought up to date.  There are several things about it that are not as convenient as an iron lung was but it isn’t nearly as complicated as an iron lung was either.  Getting a user in and out for instance is not nearly as convenient as in an iron lung.  Peace, Larry This outgoing message has been scanned by Trend Micro Internet Security for your protection.
