I’m late responding as usual!

My husband and I were talking about this.  It seems really to make sense to run the Paralympics events at the same time as the regular events as they are with these races.  Why not have just one “Olympic Games” with athletes with disability running their heats/events as well.  I can see though, that this would obviously lengthen the number of weeks for the entire event; maybe that is not practicable.

Here in the UK the last Paralympics was very well covered.  Probably because British Athletes did very well (Go Tanni!), much better than our regular athletes.  It is now clear that the prosthetic sprinters are only fractions of a second behind the non-disabled sprinters for the 100m; and conceivably we could be looking at a time quite soon when they are actually faster!  Does anyone think that this is not incredibly exciting viewing – regardless of disability?

Love Niki

Please forgive me.  I wrote October, I meant to write August.  The event is scheduled to be on between 4 and 6 PM Eastern TOMORROW Sunday, August 22, 2004.  Please change that before forwarding.
