Ok..

How fare have you come in you evaluation with diligent and falconstor? Have you found any big difference between the two?

We have looked at diligent for some time now, the down side right now is that there is only one test installation here in Sweden which results little knowledge and no local support/service organisation.

Falconstor I think have a couple of installation and some more OEM installations. But I haven’t looked that much at them yet.

we're looking at Diligent and Falconstor.

primarily because Netbackup isn't "there" yet..DSSU doesn't cover what we need, and it doesn't look like they're ready to go wide open with purdisk yet, so with falconstor or diligent, we can license the SW and run it on commodity 2U servers and attach it to whatever disk we want, and roll it into our current environment with little impact......then when Netbackup is ready to play ball in the Enterprise D2D arena, we can re-allocate the servers, and re-use the disk directly...., rather than having a big piece of proprietary hardware sitting on the data center floor.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Netbackup PureDisk vs datadomain / Diligent..

Hi,

I am looking datadomain and diligent products and have noticed that Netbackup are doing something similar with its PurDisk function. Have anyone looked at Netbackup PureDisk?
