During the weekend just gone the fqdm name of our master was removed from DNS which has obviously caused issues. Was wondering whether anyone could shed some advice on the best practice to follow. 1.What we are are now trying to achieve is to configure the master server using its hostname now instead of the fqdm, is there a procedure for this or any pitfalls I should watch out for . 2. Alternatively we have a test media server that could become the master and demote the current master, once again is there any specific procedure I should be following baring in mind SSO . Much appreciated David Clooney -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of WEAVER, Simon Sent: 17 July 2006 07:21 To: 'Jim Horalek'; Veritas-Bu Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Moving media from one master to another. Jim Not sure this is actually possible, because both masters would not be sharing the same Database, therefore would not know anything about the media id (that's my understanding). I would assume that the only possible cause of action is to import the tape or tapes into the master which will then populate its own internal database.
