Have a look at options to bplabel command. Extract from Commands manual: -erase [-l] This option is used to erase the media. Short erase is the default erase. If -l option is specified, the media is long erased. A long erase operation can take a long time depending on the type of drive.

The more blocks you have on there, the better the odds that the next block will be a duplicate. Obviously you can't keep unused blocks forever, but otherwise I would think you would want to be pretty moderate in how you go about this. Are you really running that lean on the DDR? +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by [EMAIL PROTECTED] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [EMAIL PROTECTED] +---------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Veritas-bu maillist - [email protected] http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu _______________________________________________ Veritas-bu maillist - [email protected] http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
